Chronic urticaria (CU), defined as daily or near-daily urticaria for greater than 6 weeks, has been rarely documented in conjunction with primary hyperparathyroidism secondary to adenomas and hyperplasia, although all cases resolved after surgical correction.1–3 The mechanism of CU in primary hyperparathyroidism is unclear but has been suggested to be secondary to antigen-antibody complex formation.1 CU can be divided into 2 subgroups: chronic autoimmune urticaria (CAU) and chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU).
