To the Editor Noureldine and colleagues found that molecular testing with the Afirma gene expression classifier (GEC) did not have a significant effect on the surgical decision-making process for patients with thyroid nodules who presented for surgical consultation. However, this study evaluates the test's performance using an approach that runs counter to the test's intended use.
