• Nocturnal disturbances are an important part of non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD).• A PDSS-2 total score ≥18 may provide a cut-off value that could be used in routine clinical practice.• This score can help identify clinically relevant/severe PD-specific sleep problems.
