IntroductionSolitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm, which is traditionally seen as a pleural mass, but can also occur in other locations. Although SFTs are very rare in the head and neck region, they have been reported in the orbit, nasal cavity, paranasal sinus, nasopharynx, parapharyngeal space, thyroid gland, and larynx. Laryngeal involvement has been previously reported in only 11 cases.Case reportThe case is here presented of a 57-year-old male with complaints of progressive hoarseness and difficulty in breathing which had been ongoing for 1year. By direct laryngoscopy the mass which was oriented from the right vocal cord was totally excised.DiscussionThe clinical, radiological and histopathological findings are reported here, with a review of literature, to comprise the twelfth case of laryngeal solitary fibrous tumor.
