Age-related differences in sleep-dependent consolidation of motor skills in patients with narcolepsy type 1

• The acquisition of motor skills involved in Finger Tapping Task (FTT) is lower in narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) children compared with adults.• Performance speed at FTT is enhanced after training by daytime sleep in NT1 children and nighttime sleep in NT1 adults.• In more-improving children the improvement is correlated with both daytime and total Sleep Time (TST).
