Parent knowledge of child sleep: a pilot study in a children's hospital cohort

• On average parents correctly answered half of items measuring parent knowledge of sleep• 26% of parents underestimated child sleep requirements and 19% overestimated sleep requirements• Parents of younger children were more likely to correctly estimate children's sleep requirements and to report fewer barriers to bedtimes• Parents with less formal education and lower household income had poorer knowledge of child sleep
